Bayern Munich‘s game with Union Berlin on Saturday afternoon has been postponed due to heavy snowfall.
The Bundesliga clash – which pitted second place Bayern against bottom of the table Union – had been due to kick off at 2:30PM (GMT) at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
However, heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures resulted in the match being called off.
Local transport had also been cancelled due to the inclement weather – including trains in and out of Munich – while the decision was taken by authorities to suspend flights until at least 12PM.
Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as -13 degrees over the weekend with snow falling throughout Friday night and into Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel’s side – who had trained in snowy conditions on Friday – currently sit second in the league, two points behind surprise table-toppers Bayer Leverkusen.
They remain unbeaten with 10 wins and two draws, but the postponement will allow Leverkusen to potentially extend their lead at the top when they host Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.
Meanwhile, after a fairytale run that took them from the Bundesliga 2 to the Champions League over recent years, Union have endured a torrid campaign.
