Cashing in: Brand Beckham boosted sales to £72.6m
David Beckham’s empire more than doubled revenue last year after raking in cash from deals including a controversial Qatar World Cup ambassador role.
Brand Beckham boosted sales to £72.6m in 2022, from £34.2m in 2021. Most came from brand partnerships and licensing deals with firms such as Maserati.
The latest accounts for DRJB Holdings also included payment for the former England captain’s role at the World Cup in Qatar which led to attacks from critics highlighting Qatar’s human rights record. He reportedly pocketed £10m from the partnership.
The accounts filed with Companies House also included revenue from TV firm Studio 99, which produced this year’s Beckham documentary on Netflix.
Beckham, 48, sold 55 per cent of his business to US group Authentic Brands last year in a strategic partnership worth £200m. His business also includes endorsement deals with Tudor watches and his Haig whisky brand.
This year he signed a contract with Nespresso and has ‘a healthy pipeline of new business’, DRJB said.
His wife Victoria’s fashion label made a profit for the first time – accounts showed shareholders, including the Beckhams, put £6.9m into it.
